This release includes updates to the timesheet, workspace configuration, matter categories, and invoice generation. The changes are summarized below.

Invoice generation in Microsoft Word format

Invoices can now be generated in Microsoft Word format, in addition to the existing PDF and HTML formats. This gives firms greater flexibility to review, edit, and finalize invoice content before sending it to clients.

This feature is available for firms on the PRO plan or higher, and existing invoice layouts may require updates to ensure compatibility with the new DOCX format.

Timesheet upgraded to V2

Timesheet has been upgraded to V2, built on a faster, more scalable foundation that delivers smoother, more responsive time tracking across bilabl.

Key improvements include:

  • Time tracking now operates as an independent service, improving stability and performance when handling large volumes of time records.
  • A dedicated Timesheet API is now available, enabling businesses to seamlessly connect bilabl with your existing systems and automate time tracking workflows through a secure and reliable interface.

Centralized workspace configuration for easier management

Workspace configuration settings are now grouped in one place. Administrators can manage firm-wide settings, including practice areas, matter categories, client industries, forms of organization, relation types, and activity categories (for timesheet and cost), without moving between multiple settings pages.

Matter sub-categories

bilabl now supports Matter Sub-categories in addition to Matter Categories, giving firms greater flexibility to organize and classify matters in more detail.

This enhancement improves matter management, filtering, reporting, and data consistency across the platform. Sub-categories are supported throughout bilabl, including Matter views, filters, exports, and administrative configuration.

Additional improvements

This release also includes some other enhancements:

  • Inline edit: Link fields now have a copy button, so users can copy a link without double-clicking the field and accidentally editing it.
  • Invoice PDF generation: PDF generation is now more stable. If a PDF fails the first attempt, the system retries automatically. Error messages have been improved, and a regenerate option is available to recover failed invoice PDFs.
