We’re thrilled to share the latest updates to bilabl in January 2026, packed with new features, enhancements, and improvements designed to make your experience smoother and more efficient. Here’s what’s new in this release:

Notification enhancements: bulk actions, filtering, and event categorization

The notification feature in bilabl has been enhanced to improve visibility and control over system events. This update introduces clearer notification handling and more flexible event management, including:

  • Notifications are now marked as read only when the user clicks on them, helping ensure important notifications are not missed.
  • Users can quickly mark all notifications as read or filter to show unread notifications only for easier follow-up.
  • Notifications are categorized by common event types (such as Mentions and Requests), allowing users to manage and review events more efficiently.

Introducing new business relation model

We’ve released a new version of Business Relations with a modernized user interface and simplified data model for better clarity and manageability.

Relationships are now organized into three main types:

  • People: For individual contacts and family relations.
  • Ownership: For shareholders, parent companies, subsidiaries, etc.
  • Conflict & Others: For conflict-of-interest relationships and other non-standard types.

This structure standardizes data entry and improves consistency across matters and entities.

Administrators can now configure custom relation sub-types, providing greater flexibility to align with your internal policies and operational needs.

Improving timesheet view with flexible grouping and cleaner interface

The timesheet views have been updated to make it easier for users to browse and work with timesheet data, especially when handling a large number of records.

  • Users can now group timesheet by client, matter, user, team, or by common time periods such as weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually. These grouping options help users quickly find, review, and compare timesheet data without applying complex filters.
  • In addition, the More actions menu has been consolidated into the Timesheet ID column, reducing visual clutter and providing more consistent access to record-level actions directly where the timesheet entry is displayed.

Additional improvements:

In addition to the major updates above, this release includes several other enhancements aimed at improving overall usability and flexibility across bilabl.

  • Matter fee visibility: For fixed fee, capped fee, and retainer billing types, the fee amount is now shown directly in matter table views with inline editing ability (depend on permissions).
  • New “Subtasks in Progress” column: Displays completed vs. in-progress subtasks for clearer status tracking.
  • Flexible billing number format: Billing numbers now support variable lengths, no longer restricted to 5 digits.
